The NYQM Nominating Committee invites all officers, committee members and Friends to join us on Jan 26, find out about all the Quarterly Committees, meet NYC Quakers new to Quarterly service, and have pizza and discussions at the Brooklyn Meetinghouse, Social Room. RSVP: Naomi (718) 757-2823

Morningside 4th Sunday Breakfast
Please join us for breakfast at 9:30am, Sunday, Oct 23 , in the Riverside Café. Tell the cashier you are with the Quakers and we pick up the tab. It is a great way to become better acquainted with Morningsiders in a relaxed, informal setting; it is also a good time to ask any questions about the meeting and its activities.

When: Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm
Where: Koreatown, Manhattan, on the Southeast corner of 32nd St and Broadway
The vigil is sponsored by a new coalition, the Stop THAAD in Korea and Militarism in Asia and the Pacific Task Force, which has been formed in response to the July 2016 announcement by the U.S. and South Korean governments that they have decided to deploy the U.S. Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system in South Korea.

The Forum at Fifteenth Street Meetinghouse will address the following questions: CAN BOYCOTTS AND DIVESTMENT ADVANCE JUST PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST? Can nonviolent U.S. citizen boycotts of and divestment from U.S. allies like Saudi Arabia and Israel reduce violence and oppression in the region? Guests are Medea Benjamin of Code Pink and Mike Merryman-Lotze of the American Friends Service Committee. For more, go to http://fifteenth.quaker.org.
