Meeting to Discern FCNL Legislative Priorities CANCELLED

As happens every two years, Morningside has again been asked by FCNL (the Friends Committee on National Legislation, the Quaker lobby in Washington DC) to join other U.S. Friends meetings, churches, and organizations in helping discern FCNL’s legislative priorities for the new Congress (the 117th), which convenes in January 2021. All are invited to attend. The meeting will be clerked by Kathy Stackhouse. Corona Machemer will serve as recording clerk.

Moving with Spirit

Friends' worship has been characterized as a listening for the still, small voice.  Quaker practice is a preparation to attend to this quiet call, which seems to emerge from the interior in a gathered body of expectantly waiting Friends.  Typically, Friends have together waited on Spirit in a seated position.  Might there be other ways to wait expectantly?
